BAITHUL IZZA ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGE, NARIKKUNI

  1. Registered Office

The registered office of the College shall be situated at
Narikkuni, Kozhikode District, Kerala, India – 673585,
or at such other place as may be decided by the Governing Body from time to time.

  1. Establishing Body

The College is established and managed by Baithul Izza Charitable Trust, a registered public charitable trust under the Travancore-Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955.

  1. Aims and Objectives

The primary aim of the College is to impart quality higher education and promote holistic development among students in accordance with the ideals of national development, ethics, and social responsibility.

The specific objectives are:

  1. To provide undergraduate and postgraduate education in Arts, Science, Commerce, and related disciplines.
  2. To promote academic excellence through innovative teaching, learning, and evaluation methods.
  3. To encourage research, extension, and community development activities.
  4. To foster moral, cultural, and social values in students.
  5. To ensure equal educational opportunities irrespective of religion, caste, gender, or social status.
  6. To collaborate with universities, research organisations, industries, and other academic institutions for mutual academic enrichment.
  7. To conduct seminars, workshops, conferences, and faculty development programmes.
  8. To promote sustainable and inclusive development through education and social engagement.
  1. Governance and Administration

The College shall be governed and administered in accordance with:

  • The bylaws and regulations of Baithul Izza Charitable Trust;
  • The rules and regulations of the affiliating University; and
  • The guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC), and the Government of Kerala.
  1. Governing Body

The Governing Body shall be the principal policy-making authority of the College and shall consist of:

  1. Chairman– nominated by the Management
  2. Secretary / Manager– representing the Management
  3. Principal– Ex-officio Member
  4. University Nominee– Member
  5. Government Nominee(if applicable) – Member
  6. Teacher Representatives– Two elected members
  7. Non-Teaching Staff Representative– One elected member
  8. Educationist / Eminent Person– One nominated member
  1. Powers and Functions of the College
    1. To design and implement academic programmes in accordance with the affiliating university and UGC norms.
    2. To frame and enforce regulations for administration, discipline, and conduct.
    3. To acquire, hold, and manage movable and immovable properties of the College.
    4. To receive grants, donations, and contributions for the advancement of education.
    5. To appoint teaching and non-teaching staff in accordance with prescribed procedures.
    6. To enter into collaborations with academic, research, and industry institutions.
    7. To publish journals, newsletters, and other educational materials.
    8. Funds and Property
    9. The income and property of the College shall be applied solely for the promotion of its objectives.
    10. No portion thereof shall be paid, directly or indirectly, to any member by way of profit.
    11. The accounts shall be audited annually by a qualified auditor.
    12. Affiliation and Recognition

The College shall function as an aided/self-financing institution affiliated to the University of Calicut, and recognised by the Government of Kerala and the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi.

  1. Amendments

Any amendment to this Memorandum of Association shall be made with the approval of the Governing Body, subject to ratification by the Trust and compliance with University/UGC regulations.

  1. Dissolution Clause

In the event of dissolution, the assets of the College, after satisfying all liabilities, shall not be distributed among members but shall be transferred to another educational trust or institution having similar objectives, as decided by the Governing Body and permitted by law.

  1. Declaration

We, the undersigned members of the Baithul Izza Charitable Trust, hereby agree to and adopt this Memorandum of Association as the governing document of Baithul Izza Arts and Science College, Narikkuni.
